ICW Santa Gravy:

I was in attendance last night as Insane Championship Wrestling closed off 2012 in style with Santa Gravy at the Classic Grand in Glasgow.

In front of packed crowd ICW put on their last show in the Classic Grand as ICW shows in Glasgow from now on take place at the Garage with sister promotion Fierce Females running the Classic Grand.

The show was also Lionheart’s last ICW show before retirement and he faced off against long-time rival/friend Wolfgang in a great main event with Wolfgang coming out victorious before an emotional Lionheart ended the show with a speech as the crowd cheered his name.

2012 has been a huge year for ICW and the company looks to go onwards and upwards in 2013, starting with the second annual Square Go which will take place at the Garage in Glasgow in Glasgow with tickets now on sale at Ticketmaster.co.uk.

Look out for my full review of ICW Santa Gravy on the website over the next few days.

New PBW Heavyweight champion crowned:

ICW was not the only Scottish company putting on shows this weekend as Premier British Wrestling closed off 2012 with a double header of shows on Friday and Saturday.

Friday night’s show saw some big moments take place including Lionheart’s last PBW match against Noam Dar and the crowning of a new PBW champion.

“Bad Boy” Liam Thomson defeated BT Gunn to end Gunn’s near two year reign with the title to become the new PBW Heavyweight Champion in what is being described as a thrilling main event.

Unfortunately I could not make either show however congratulations to Liam Thomson on becoming the new champion and I am looking forward to seeing more of PBW in 2013.

BCW No Blood No Sympathy 10 this weekend:

After a big weekend for PBW and ICW, all eyes are now focused on British Championship Wrestling as they are set to put on No Blood, No Sympathy 10.

Set over two nights on Friday in Kilmarnock and in East Kilbride on Saturday, No Blood, No Sympathy looks set to be a big weekend for BCW with some big matches taking place over the two nights including Joe Coffey vs Johnny Moss in a Falls Count Anywhere match on the Friday and Davey Blaze vs Chris Rampage on the Saturday.

Former WWE superstars Chris Masters and Eugene will also be in action with Masters facing Lionheart and Eugene facing Red Lightning in Kilmarnock on the Friday then the next night in East Kilbride Masters will face BT Gunn with Eugene teaming up with Grado to take on Jack Jester and Mikey Whiplash.

There are still some tickets available for both nights so if you can get along for what is sure to be two great nights of wrestling.

TNA cutting Pay Per Views?:

Over in America it is being reported that TNA will be cutting the amount of Pay Per Views they put on next year to allow a bigger build up to pay per views such as Lockdown and Bound For Glory.

Dixie Carter has been vocal about wanting to do this before and I think this is a great idea. Cutting the amount of Pay Per Views they put will mean PPVs will have a longer build up to each one making them feel more special.

Hopefully WWE follow suit and every Pay Per View will be meaningful again instead of having so many throwaway PPVs each year.

Kenneth Cameron released:

Disappointing news broke at the end of last week that Thomas Latimer a.k.a NXT Star Kenneth Cameron is reported to have been released from the WWE after being arrested over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Kenneth Cameron was one half of the Ascension alongside Conor O’Brian who have been dominating in NXt and looked set to make the step up to the main WWE roster soon.

This news disappointed me as I thought The Ascension were going to be the future of the WWE tag team division however, hopefully Cameron’s release will not affect O’Brian too much and he will still be given his chance to impress.

That is all for this week, thanks for reading.
